Hearts in jars

I see people, and my relationships in my mind like this. I am in a old storage cellar, with it's soft musty smell, quiet, and calm. It's filled with shelves full of jars with hearts in them. Some are old, and dusty and clear, vibrant red with life, with others are dull blue of sorrow mixed with sadness, and some of the jars are even stained black to the point where I can't even see the heart inside as if hiding from the world. I would keep those that where close to me in the center of the cellar, enjoying being surrounded by their company. But still, I would wander the endless shelves looking, and peering into the jars there. Most look to b

Life is funny. It drops us into the world, like a little kid dropping a puzzle box. A mess, no picture, and clueless of what we are meant to look like. And like a little kid's puzzle, we don't even have all of the pieces there to fully understand what our big picture looks like. Unsolvable by ourselves. But the real funny thing is, like a little kids puzzle, these puzzle pieces are all mixed up between everyone else s boxes. So the only way we can ever figure ourselves out is if we share our messed up box of puzzle pieces with. Friends, family, and that someone we look for to spend our while life with.
